FA!R PROCURA Conference 2010: Fair Trade Public Procurement, a tool for sustainable development

The Public Affairs project is, after three years of mobilising action for Fair Trade Public Procurement (FTPP), coming to an end. The project is therefore pleased to invite to the final conference taking place 24 September 2010, Dortmund, Germany. The conference aims at discussing, together with European experts, how fair procurement can help public authorities to support sustainable development and make a difference for marginalised producers and workers from developing countries.

Consumers International event on supermarket supply chains and workers’ rights in developing countries

Consumers International (The International umbrella group for consumer organisations) facilitated an interesting multi-stakeholder discussion “Supermarket supply chains and workers’ rights in developing countries” at the European Parliament (Brussels) on 23 June 2010.

World Fair Trade Day 2010 celebrated around the Globe

On 8 May, tens of thousands of people around the Globe have shown great imagination in celebrating the World Fair Trade Day (WFTDay) 2010 and expressing their support to Fair Trade. The WFTDay Declaration, core message on WFTDay, has been supported by more than one thousand entities from 57 countries amongst them Ministries, local authorities and representatives of United Nations bodies, social movements, NGOs, Universities and Fair Trade Organisations.
